About

A restless soul from Rio, Drika Yar transformed her natural curiosity — which once led her to engineering — into fuel for creating unique literary universes. Since her teenage years, she has immersed herself in science fiction stories, medieval legends, and narratives capable of crossing centuries and borders.

Her literary career officially began in 2015 when she won an award at the II Prose and Poetry Contest by APVE. Since then, Drika hasn't stopped. Her poems, chronicles, and short stories have appeared in anthologies, literary events, and unconventional gatherings — such as Litheral, a performance held next to a bathtub — a hallmark of the Litheratrupe Group, of which she is an active member.

Her work also received recognition from Helvetia Publishing, which granted her an Honorable Mention in 2017 for her significant contributions to national literature and the promotion of Brazilian culture.

Since 2019, she proudly occupies Chair 18 at the Academia Joseense de Letras — AJL (Academy of Letters of São José dos Campos). Her independently published books are open invitations to readers who enjoy thinking, laughing, feeling, and, above all, venturing into stories that challenge the obvious.

In 2023, Drika discovered she is autistic (ASD) and has ADHD — diagnoses that, far from limiting her, explained the intensity of her gaze upon the world and the creative force that permeates each of her works.
